HR Technology Conference 2008

Aetna Case Study Presentation

At HR Technology 2008 last week, Melissa Cummings, Head of Workforce Planning at Aetna, presented her experience of implementing Aruspex’s strategic workforce planning framework and software – to huge applause!  Melissa described the outcomes Aetna have achieved in less than a year, which included:

• Documented insight into the trends impacting the workforce, including the effect retirements and other trends will have on the future workforce
• Definition of the targeted future workforce
• Clearly defined future workforce gaps with solutions for these gaps
• Measurable action plans to be incorporated into a human capital operating plan
• Regular progress checks against plan

Melissa included samples of her “business engagement pack”, panel shots of the CAPTure software used to support the process, and a detailed explanation of the process and techniques, the session was described by attendees as “stunningly insightful”, “brilliant” and “inspiring”…a great resource for other workforce planners, and a great example of the sharing and networking which is building the Aruspex workforce planner community.  Our workforce planning software, shared  the stage with Melissa, with one Fortune 100 VP of HR commenting "if CAPTure can do half of what I have seen today it is a tool needed by my organization!".  We are proud of our part in Aetna’s strategic workforce success.

You can download Melissa’s presentation here, and see what Human Resource Executive's Dave Shadovitz had to say about it.  Watch out for more from this leading workforce planning practitioner in the future.  If you’d like information on how Aruspex can help you implement strategic workforce planning at your organization (and help you become a leading practitioner!), please contact us.
