Already the end of 2006! 
And what a year!  2006 seems to be the year that Strategic Workforce Planning has reached the "tipping point" around the world.  The Conference Board released their important research report in August, Human Resource Executive magazine covered the new approach in October, Gartner offered specific advice in November, and many, many employers around the world kicked off or ramped up their workforce planning efforts into truly strategic approaches - it's not just matching internal supply and demand any more!

The spread of workforce planning is now global and across all industries, as well - no longer restricted to employers with known global skills shortages like those in engineering, actuarial and blue collar areas.


We've been working with employers across the spectrum:  public sector, mining, health, retail, energy, education, manufacturing, media, financial services, transport and others.  More excitingly, there is also at least one case where an entire industry has got together to tackle their overall challenges.

The biggest issue each of them face, though, is a need to know what to do first or next!  So with that in mind we'd like to remind you that you can find many workforce planning resources on our website, in the Workforce Planning stream at the Human Capital Institute, or by attending one of our events. 

Most importantly, we'll continue to add resources to our site, and to send you monthly hints, tips and tricks through this newsletter.  Thanks very much for being part of the Aruspex community - and part of the emerging trend that is Strategic Workforce Planning.  We're looking forward to an even bigger and better year in 2007.
